The Covid-19 app is an app that allows people to quickly contact people if someone or you are at risk of corona virus or have been around a person with it. This app is made to slow down the spread of corona virus since it allows people to act quicker and get rid of the threat before it spreads further. When you first get this app you will get prompted to put in your name, mobile number, and postcode and select your age range. This information will of course be kept confidential and only state and territory health officials can have access to it when someone is tested positive.
When you have this app downloaded, when you go out and meet others that also have this app installed, the app will collect information about the date, time, distance and duration of the contact and the other user’s reference code. This information is encrypted and is stored safely on your phone. It will only be accessed when the app thinks the app user is tested positive for covid-19. They will use this information to get in contact with you or your parent/guardian to warn you that you may have contracted the virus and they wlll you give advice on where, when and how you can get tested and another details to help you from potentially spreading to your family/friends.
I think that this app is a must for people aged 15 and higher. This app can keep you safe and also the people around safe so i think that there are only benefits when downloading this app. You can also delete this app at anytime, it will also erase all the information that you have inputted from the app’s system so you can rest assured that your details wont be able to get accessed by anyone any longer after that.
